What IS happening, and you are clearly exhibiting it, is that YOU are building resentment toward your husband for not measuring up to your unrealistic expectations. My fiance was not in a place to blow money and did not want to propose at first because he felt he could only do it with a diamond white gold ring. I let him know that it honestly doesn't mean anything to me, I would rather that money go to a downpayment for a place to live or travel etc. He got a $200 sterling silver engagement ring with a white sapphire as the stone and honestly I love it! I personally don't see much difference between the sapphire and a diamond but I may just be uncultured 🤣
